TOPIC: Gig Switch took a dump !

Wednesday night - our power went out from 8 pm til about 11:30 (had me a little worried since it was -7 outisde) But it did come back on and all was ok...

well not ALL -

My Dell PowerConnect 2716 16 port Gig switch took a dump on me. No power.

I metered the fuse and capacitors and found 1 that wouldn't respond -
the 400v Cap.

I went ahead and ordered a new cap and will try soldering it in -

I'll let you know if it saved it.

If anyone has suggestions - I'm open to them.
